Hi! My name is Teacher Tina, and I’m from the Philippines. I’m really happy you’re here. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from one of the top universities in my country, the University of the Philippines Cebu, and I’m also TEFL-certified. Aside from teaching English, I volunteer as a math tutor in my hometown, which has helped me become very patient and supportive as a teacher. For over a year now, I’ve been teaching Chinese students, and I’ve worked with more than 20 learners of different levels.

Teaching style
I always start with a trial class because I want to understand you, your goals, your strengths, and the areas where you want to improve, especially for real-life communication.
My students often describe me as chill, friendly, and easy to talk to, but at the same time, they feel that they truly learn and improve in my class. I don’t believe learning English should be stressful. I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and supported, like you’re learning with a teacher who also understands you as a person.
I adjust my teaching style based on your needs, whether you want to improve your speaking for work, daily conversations, or life here in the United States. In my class, you’re not just a student. You’re someone I genuinely want to help succeed.
About me
I’m an island girl born and raised in Bantayan Island, and growing up there helped me become patient, flexible, and easygoing. I bring these qualities into my English classes. I enjoy playing chess, love cooking, and truly enjoy helping others, especially when I see them improve.
I’ve always loved math, so I chose it as my college major. Math taught me how to think clearly, solve problems step by step, and never give up easily. I use these skills every day when teaching English, especially when explaining grammar, practicing speaking, and building students’ confidence.
Work experience
With Intelligence & Walden
-
Data Researcher
Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked as a data researcher at With Intelligence and Walden, where I analyzed information, checked details carefully, and organized complex data into clear reports. This experience taught me to pay attention to details, explain ideas clearly, and think critically.
I use these skills in English teaching by helping students understand grammar, structure sentences, and express themselves confidently. I guide learners' step by step, making sure everything is clear and easy to follow, so they can improve their English with confidence.
